Tibet - for centuries, this sacred land has exerted a magnetic pull on adventurous travelers from all over the world, including spies, missionaries, scholars, geographers, conquerers, mystics, and cranks. This tour takes you over high passes and to the Everest Base Camp. At 17,600 feet (5,360 metres), you will truly be on top of the world!

This tour is designed especially for adventurers and enthusiasts who have a passion for biking. We will ride Royal Enfield 500cc's, accompanied by a full support vehicle and support staff, including our own mechanic. While our lodging will certainly be comfortable, it will be rustic, not luxurious - some nights we will find ourselves camping in tents. A spirit for adventure is crucial!

DAY BY DAY

Day 1:

Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we will meet and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2:
Kathmandu

Sightseeing tour of the cities of Kathmandu and Swayambhunath in the morning. In the afternoon, we will pick up the motorcycles and familiarze ourselves with them by taking a trial ride around the Ring road. In the evening, we will have our Tibet tour briefing (including document processing for the Tibet visas), followed by a welcome dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3:
Kathmandu - Kodari

Dinner and overnight at the Last Resort in Kodari

Day 4:
Kodari - Zhangmu - Nyalam

Dinner and overnight at the guest house.

Day 5:
Nyalam

Acclimatization day in Nyalam. Overnight at the guest house.

Day 6:
Nyalam - Shegar

Dinner and overnight at the guest house.

Day 7:
Shegar - Shigatse

Dinner and overnight at Shigatse.

Day 8:
Shigatse - Yamdrok Lake via Gyantse

Dinner and overnight at Nagartse.

Day 9:
Lake Yamdrok (Nagartse) - Lhasa

Dinner at a restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10:
Lhasa

Dinner at a restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

Day 11:
Lhasa

Full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa, including the Drepung Monastery, and the Sera Monastery. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

Day 12:
Lhasa - Shigatse

Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. Dinner and overnight at Shigatse.

Day 13:
Shigatse - Shegar

Dinner and overnight at the guest house.

Day 14:
Shegar - Rongbuk Monastery

Dinner and overnight at Rongbuk.

Day 15:
Mt. Everest Base Camp - Rongbuk

Morning excursion around Mt. Everest Base Camp. The new rules prohibits vehicles from going beyond the Rongbuk area. Clients need to travel by the horse-drawn cart which carries two passengers and takes about 30 minutes to traverse the 7 kilometer distance to the tented city of the Everest Base Camp. The cost will be &yuan;30 per person. Dinner and overnight camping at Rongbuk.

Day 16:
Rungbuk - Tingri - Nyalam

Dinner and overnight at Nyalam.

Day 17:
Nyalam - Zhangmu - Kathmandu

One hour drive to Zhangmu. Complete the Chinese Immigration and border formalities. The permits and motorcycles are checked once again and then we drive down 8 kilometers to Kodari and the Nepal Tibet Friendship Bridge. Cross the Friendship Bridge, complete Nepal Customs and Immigration and drive 4 hours to Kathmandu. We will check the motorcycles at the workshop and then transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel Manaslu.

Day 18:
Kathmandu

Free until departure. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
