| DAY BY DAY | Swiss Tour: Switzerland, Germany, France | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Day 1:Arrival at Zurich Airport / Switzerland, Railroad to the Hotel in Downtown location. Stroll to the Niederdorf for a welcome dinner with introduction. Day 2: Zurich - Lindau (140 miles) Takeover of rental motorcycles and ride with your tour guide to the Rhine fall (biggest water fall in Europe), Take a ferry across Lake Constance to Meersburg, in Germany, and continue to the island of Lindau. The Hotel is located on the shore of the lake, connected to the narrow alleys of Medieval Lindau. Day 3: Lindau - St. Moritz (200 miles) We have to cross to a small part of Austria before get to the beautiful Appenzell. The winding roads, with very little traffic, offer spectacular scenery. Take a gondola to the top of Mt. Saentis, across Liechtenstein, back to Switzerland, and taking the twists of Albula Pass to St. Moritz. Day 4: St. Moritz - Zermatt (210 miles) Take the Spluegen and San Bernardino Pass to the northern Italian area of Domodossula, and along the narrow Centovalli to the Simplon Pass. Since Zermatt is where no motorized vehicles are permited, we stay in the beautiful Alpine Village of Taesch, located just below Zermatt. Day 5: Zermatt - Montreux (170 miles) Take an early train to Zermatt for a town-stroll and a short hike along the foothills of the Matterhorn. Ride along narrow back roads, with very little traffic, to the French border. A Lunch stop in Chamonix, is truly one of the highlights. Stay overnight in Switzerland, in the charming town of Montreux. Day 6: Montreux - Lucern (150 miles) Ride via Croix and Pillon Pass through the Simmen-Valley to Grindelwald. Take Europe's highest railroad through the wall of Eiger to the Jungfraujoch at 11000 feet elevation where you can walk on the glacier. A late arrival in Lucern, you are ready for dinner in this beautiful medieval town. Day 7: Lucern - Glarus (190 miles) Ride the Susten and Grimsel Pass to the Furka Pass, where you can walk inside the Rhone Glacier. Through the Schoellen Canyon, the road is winding its way across Wilhelm Tells hometown, and over the beautiful Klausen Pass into the impressive valley of Glarus. Day 8: Glarus - Zurich (110 miles) It is a beautiful ride until the last minute, where roads are winding almost until downtown Zurich. The landscape is hilly and the scenery awesome across Pragel and Ibergeregg Pass. Stop for lunch at the town of Einssiedeln, and don't miss a peek into the Monastery. We will return the bikes today and invite you to a farewell dinner. Day 9: Departure Note: We reserve the right to make changes any time |
