Spain / France / Andorra..."Wine Region Tour"
|
|
|
|
Ride through three countries and three internationally famous French wine regions in four days. Highlights include wine chateaus, Pyrenees, gourmet food, and excellent rides tailored to your needs - whether the objective is to sight-see or just to ride. We visit Bordeaux, Languedoc and Jurancon regions - go through the Pyrenees and stop off for duty-free shopping in Andorra!

|
|
This tour is only run during the wine harvest time, and the tour is very popular - so early booking advised unless you want a self-guided tour. The tour is fully customizable - we live and work in this area, so we know it well. We can tailor the ride according to the experience, needs, and interests of the group. Roads can vary from Forestry tracks and rural roads in the high Pyrenees to long, sweeping national roads in Spain and France. The full-blown tour averages just under 350 km (217 miles) per day, but we ask prospective customers not to be deceived by this distance. For some sections of the tour, this would be the equivalent of a 10-hour ride. Typically we would look to ride three hours in the morning and three in the afternoon.

DAY BY DAY
Day 1:
Montrejeau - Luchon - Lourdes - Jurancon [170 km]
A trip through the lower Pyrenees via the famous shrine at Lourdes (optional) to Jurancon. Jurancon is a white win region primarily fielding some excellent dry whites and dessert wines.
Day 2:
Jurancon - St. Emilion [200 km]
From Jurancon we move up to the Bordeaux region via the beautiful town of Agen. St. Emilion is a terrific place full of charisma, and the wine is among the best in the world! A chateau bed & breakfast awaits us.
Day 3:
St. Emilion - Perpignan [427 km]
From Bordeaux to the Languedoc! Red or white as you choose!
Day 4:
Perpignan - Andorra - Montrejeau [370 km]
No Mission Motos trip is complete without crossing at least one national border (we cross three today). A chance for the Pillions to sample a little Spanish wine with lunch - and for everyone to take advantage of Andorra's tax-free shopping before we return to Montrejeau.
Note: We reserve the right to make changes during the course of the tour.
