DAY BY DAY
|
|
|
|
|
Day 1:
Arrival at San Francisco / California
Shuttle to the hotel in downtown location. Stroll to the Fisherman's Warf & welcome dinner with introduction.
Day 2:
San Francisco - Monterey (160 miles)
Explore some of the Santa Cruz Mountain backroads. Have a cup of coffee at Alice's Restaurant at the famous Skyline Boulevard, before you twist along the Alpine Road to the Costal Hwy 1. Spend some time in the afternoon in Monterey visiting the bay aquarium and sampling a fine meal at Cannery Row.
Day 3:
Monterey - Mariposa (260 miles)
Ride the beautiful roads of Big Sur and cross through the agricultural fields of the Central Valley into the foothills of the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. Add some twisty miles on a narrow remote backroad before you get to historic Mariposa, the hub of Yosemite National Park.
Day 4:
Mariposa - Crystal Bay (250 miles)
One of the highlights is riding the very scenic Tioga Pass across Yosemite National Park, 9945 feet above sea level. This is the highest automobile pass in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. We also cross the Monitor Pass and the Luther Pass to get to Lake Tahoe.
Day 5:
Crystal Bay - Calistoga (290 miles)
Yes, 290 miles! You can make it shorter, but you will miss a lot of good motorcycle riding, like the Yuba Pass, which is well-known but not busy enough to ever get congested. Several Gold Rush towns such as Nevada City and Downieville make this a great ride to Napa Valley wine country.
Day 6:
Calistoga - San Francisco (170 miles)
Riding the Skaggs Springs Road to Stewarts Point is a motorcyclist's heaven! This is 40 miles of motorcycle paradise, and the ultimate motorcycle freedom! From Stewards Point we stay on the Costal Hwy 1 until we enter San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge.
Day 7:
Departure
Note: We reserve the right to make changes.
